October marks National Cyber Security Awareness Month, an annual campaign sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance in an effort to encourage home users, schools, and businesses to protect their networks and raise interest and awareness in our shared responsibility for securing our nation’s critical cyber infrastructure.
Businesses need to be especially concerned with cyber security as they are likely using technology and the internet as an integral part of their day-to-day operations, business communications, and social media marketing, thus exposing them to greater risk.
With online data breaches regularly headling the news and cyber threats continuing to grow in frequency and sophistication, have you ever considered the the ramifications if your company suffered a lapse in cyber security? What if your employees are unknowingly putting your business at risk? Would your reputation be ruined if your system was hijacked? What if your client information was compromised?
As a business owner, you need to know the answers to these questions to ensure that you:
- Protect your customers
- Protect your employees
- And protect your business!
